On Saturday night, a man trying to stop his girlfriend from drinking and driving ended up being dragged under the girlfriend’s car and died.

Jesenia Vega was leaving a block party to drive home, when her boyfriend, Louis Wiederer, tried to stop her. According to a witness he told her,”You’re going to get arrested, you can’t drive like that.” Wiederer was hanging onto the open side window of Vega’s car when she took off, dragging him until he could not hold on, and he fell under the car which ran him over. The car then went through two stop signs before coming to a stop.

Another witness, Jay Steiner, said he heard Vega say, “Oh, my God… Don’t tell me I just killed my fiance.” after she exited the car and assessed the seen.

Wiederer was pronounced dead on the scene, and Vega was immediately arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. She has pleaded not guilty and her bail is $100,000 cash or $200,000 bond.
