AMX Batteries Recalled Due To Fire Hazard

AMX, of Texas, in conjunction with the CPSC, issued a voluntary recall of more than 8,000 rechargeable batteries because the batteries can overheat and rupture, posing a burn hazard.

To this date, there have been no reports of injury in connection with the recalled batteries.

The recall involves AMX 5000 Series wireless touch panels with the following model numbers: MVP-5100, MVP-5150, MVP-5200i. The touch panels can be used as remote controls for commercial or residential audio/visual systems.

This recall applies to ALL panels shipped before October 26th 2009, including any panel returned and replaced for any earlier-reported battery issues.

Consumer should stop using the recalled touch panels and contact AMX for a free replacement.
